AmiN.O. EnergyIn the growing industry of workout nutritional supplements, things are getting murkier and murkier as people want to take advantage of the lack of regulation and the heavy demand combined with a relatively low supply. Gym-goers, both serious weightlifters and amateurs alike, are desperate for a healthy advantage and are likely to try anything at least once.

Hence, we have AmiN.O. Energy.

Marketed as a pre-workout supplement, this product is manufactured by Optimum Nutrition, Inc. , which is a subsidiary of Glanbia (which came into existence in 1997 after the formation of Waterford Food and Avonmore Foods).

Glanbia is a top-notch multinational cheese and nutritional ingredients firm and also has two sports nutrition name brands, marketing both as premium brand: Optimum Nutrition and ABB Performance. In a nutshell, these facts show that we have some legitimacy based on historic existence here. However, that can’t help dissipate the dark cloud of the list of AmiN.O. Energy side effects which we will tackle below.

So what does Glanbia actually claim that AmiN.O. Energy can do? Well, here it is:

Elevated alertness and mental focus (‘not just for the gym, but at the office, too!’)
Chock-full of amino acids and BCAAs.
Tasty, sugar-free drink with only ten calories
Provide an edge over your rivals (?!)

The manufacturer states that with their product packed with tons of ‘healthy’ caffeine, including well, caffeine, and other substances heavy on the stimulant: green coffee extract and green tea extract.

They also claim that AmiN.O. Energy helps prevent:

  • Loss of muscle
